The ceremonial commissioning of the brand-new Philips “MR 5300 Chapter” last Wednesday, June 25, 2025, was a real highlight for the Ore Mountains region. It is a privilege to have such state-of-the-art medical technology in our facility.
Special thanks go to Dr. Brigitte Güttler from Sosa. A true pioneer, she brought the first private MRI scanner to our region, demonstrating courage, strength, and diligence—and has now recruited an equally dedicated team of doctors from Leipzig to take over from her in Aue.
What can the new MRI do? Quite a lot:
- Anatomically highest-resolution musculoskeletal diagnostics
- Noticeably shorter examination times
- Improved 3D imaging (including FLAIR intracranial, T1 gradient echo)
- More reliable fat suppression in various sequences
- Optimized oncological imaging – e.g., breast MRI and mpMRI of the prostate
- New vascular diagnostics thanks to time-resolved 4D MRA
We are delighted that this cutting-edge technology is now at home at Zschorlauer Straße 54–56—right here with us in the heart of the Ore Mountains.
